    How to Get to Neuschwanstein

    By train from Munich

Take a regional train from München Hauptbahnhof to Füssen — direct trains run roughly every two hours and take 2h05. The Bayern-Ticket day pass is the cheapest option for 1–5 travellers.

    From Füssen to Hohenschwangau

From Füssen station catch RVA bus 73 (towards Steingaden) or 78 (towards Hohenschwangau). Travel time is about 10 minutes.

    By car

From Munich it is roughly 130 km via A95/B17/B17 (1h45 without traffic). Parking is available at the four signed lots near the Hohenschwangau ticket centre (€10/day in 2026).

From the village to the castle

From Hohenschwangau village you have three options: a 30–40 min uphill walk, a shuttle bus (€3 up / €2 down) that stops 600 m below Marienbrücke, or a horse-drawn carriage (€8 up / €4 down) that stops 5 minutes below the castle gate.
