Every visitor needs a ticket with a specific entry time. In summer all slots are sold out 1–2 days in advance, so book online ahead of your visit.
Photography and video are not permitted inside the castle rooms. You can take all the pictures you want from the outside terraces and from the Marienbrücke.
Due to the many staircases and the steep approach, Neuschwanstein is only partly accessible to visitors with reduced mobility. Contact the ticket centre in advance — a small elevator can be made available with prior arrangement.
Comfortable walking shoes are essential. Even in summer, the temperature on the upper terraces can drop quickly — bring a light layer.
There is a restaurant and a café next to the castle entrance, but prices are tourist-oriented. Cheaper options in Hohenschwangau village or Füssen.
